Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: We have stayed at Fiume before and were pleased to be back. It’s ideally situated midway between the Caprivi strip and Windhoek, and it’s a bit like an oasis in the desert. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the pool and a cold beer most welcoming after a 4+ hour drive. Supper was excellent, using both meat (game) and vegetables from the farm and breakfast was substantial. Sitting at the waterhole as the sun went down, watching giraffe, eland and other antelope plus the birds was a fabulous ‘last night in the wild’ experience.

Negative: As an overnight destination, Fiume can’t be bettered!

Summary: A bit of an oasis ….perfect for an overnight stop
