5 bedrooms and 3 full baths beautifully spacious and very comfortable home. It has spectacular sunrises and moon-rises over the pier with full view of the Ocean, all from the screened-in porch off the Main living room floor. The screened in porch is really the focal point for any beach front home....No Bugs! It has composite decking so also very nice on the feet and good for babies to crawl on as well. The hammock on the screened in porch is a must of course. Nothing like a nap to sounds of the ocean!
Turtle Watch Beach House is far enough away from town to hear the ocean sing yet so close with a 10min walk to town. In the summer May - October Sea Turtles arrive on Folly Beach to nest for hundreds of years right in the backyard. It's an amazing site to witness quietly!
Turtle Watch is beautifully decorated with updated furniture and decor from beach spots all over the globe. The furnishing and decor give this home a very comfortable homey vibe. There are several areas to tuck away and relax with a book, sway in 1 of 2 hammocks, gather for games or just be in the moment from the upstairs library, (2) sundecks, screened in porch, office area or one of the three seating areas on the main level or two seatings area on the ground level. Or maybe, let Owner know you would like to arrange to rent a golf cart, or bikes, and have them ready upon your arrival for nice stroll over the 4 miles of Folly Beach, the closest beach to Charleston Downtown, 15mins!
Turtle Watchs' (5) bedrooms are also fully appointed with a TV in every sleeping all with steaming. Beds are (2) Kings (2) Queens (1) twin/double bunk (1) and day bed and are all very comfortable with GOOD mattresses, good thread linens and "non - lumpy" pillows with four on every bed. (2) sets of bath, hand and face towels in each room.
Kitchen is opened up all the way around a gas stove top in the island for easy cooking. With a kitchen that is fully stocked with all the kitchenware imaginable: blenders, choppers, toasters, 12 cup coffee, 1 cup Kuerig, baking and roasting dishes, pots, pans, casserole dishes. Plus place settings, cutlery and glassware, for 14ppl. Owner loves cooking and entertaining. You should want for nothing.
Turtle Watch Beach House provides ample beach and activity accessories. (6) beach chairs, (3-4) umbrellas, (8) Beach towels, an array of beach buckets, pales, shovels for building sandcastles, beach paddle ball, frisbees, and a tub of baby water toys including an a small baby pool!
The private beach access walkway is key to a beach front home. Owner put in an IPE wood beach access boardwalk to the beach. What does this means its a brazilian hardwood with very smooth surfaces so NO SPLINTERS! Yippie! It's very nice on the feet as apposed to old cracking wood decks.
The two sun decks, one on the 3rd floor for privacy and one along the Board Walk between the house and the beach are a great seating area or for private sun bathing areas.
Historic Charleston is within an easy 15 minute driving distance. Downtown Charleston has an outstanding array of Cuisine, Harbor Dining, Roof Top Dining, and of course Causal Dining. Tip: Seafood is fresh and definitely a must to sample. The market section in Downtown is sure to please any avid shopper. Charleston has several Historic Mansions and Gardens nearby. Also, the lovely Towns of Beaufort, SC and Savannah, GA are only one hour by car and offers the most beautiful Low Country settings.
