Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The property manager was responsive when I had a question. However, the next section is filled with problems/comments I e-mailed to them within 14 hours of check-in. The only topic they chose to address was to reimburse me for the propane tank exchange. This property is old and lacking maintenance.

Negative: There was no salt/pepper. The only starter "laundry detergent" for the dishwasher or washer/dryer was baking soda. The propane tank for the fire feature was empty. There were 2 matches available to light the feature after we refilled the tank. The pool table was a key attraction to renting this home. Only one of the long pool cues has a tip and is functional. The felt on the pool table is getting old and probably needs a replacement in the near future. The slider off the living room has a screen door that doesn't slide. I think a wheel might be missing (it's not off the track). The screens on most of the windows need to be replaced. They're shredded and obstruct the view. Some of the skillets/pots/pans are probably to the point they need to be replaced. The pool/hot tub are in a community center 6 houses down the block. The pool chairs are unusuable because of tears/age. The pool was dirty from leaves and debris. The hot tub water was a little green but smelled okay. The wi-fi cut out twice in the first 3 hours. The download speed seems to be around 40 MBPS. That might be a little low for the number of people and devices in this rental. There are multiple dings/dents/scratches on the drywall near the dining room/pool table. At checkout, there are a lot of tasks they ask you to do to "conform to the rental agreement". This type of statement was referenced multiple times during my stay. There is no "rental agreement or house rules" with the details they mention. For example, I chose to pay $249 for a refundable security deposit instead of using the $1500 insurance policy with a non-refundable $59 premium. When I requested a prompt refund of the $249 several days after checkout (and cleaning/inspection), they told me it will take two weeks to do so. I don't think that's a good business practice.

Summary: Poorly maintained home with a property management company that doesn't care about details.
