Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The place was clean. It was a very basic apartment but was considerably cheaper than staying in the city centre so I guess you can’t have everything. Having 2 bathrooms was important to us as we were a family of 4 adults travelling together. It was easy to drive into Galway, took about 15 mins, or there was a bus stop not far from the apartment if you didn’t want to use the car.

Negative: We didn’t realise the apartment was student accommodation until we arrived. To say it was basic was an understatement. One pillow and one towel each. And there were barely enough things in the kitchen to be able to cook. Only 2 bowls when there were 4 of us staying, no tea towel or oven gloves, only one rack in the oven and most of the pans had burnt on food stuck to the bottom. There were no bedside lamps so it meant once you turned out the big light you were fumbling around in the dark. I did get in touch with the property managers and the next day they brought extra pans that were clean and a tea towel for us to use.

Summary: Very, very basic student accommodation but clean
