The house is located on a hillside and offers a beautiful view of the Giant Mountains to the front and fields and woods to the rear. The accommodation, with two apartments, is suitable for rent by two or more families. It is an ideal place to spend a holiday together, yet it still provides sufficient privacy for all. The house has room for 8-14 persons. It is surrounded by a large garden of more than 3000 m2 and offers plenty of sunshine as well as space for children to safely play. During summer you have access to a swimming pool and a field where you can play volleyball or badminton. At night you can enjoy a cozy campfire in the garden. Firewood is free. At a distance of just 750 meters you will find the center of the village with its shops and supermarket where you can do your daily shopping and purchase delicious fresh bread! The village also has an old monastery and two restaurants.
The house consists op two separate layers, connected via a royal hall with landing stairs. On the ground-floor, a large kitchen/living, a large living room (5 x 5) with a great view, and a large bedroom (4.5 X 5) are situated. A bathroom with a sink, bath and separate toilet may also be found on this floor. A large storage area and a play-room with ping pong and table football may be found in the basement. There are two bikes that may be used freely. The landing stairs lead to the first floor. Here, a bathroom with a toilet and 3 bedrooms are situated. Each bedroom has its own sink.
Directly from the house you have access to several beautiful hiking trails which run along the hillside and through splendid grain fields and forests. The Giant Mountains provide plenty of opportunity for fun no matter the season. In addition to the tourist town of Spindleruv Mlyn (with related attractions), there are also smaller mountain villages which have their own charm. The Giant Mountains have numerous hiking routes, many of which are ideal for families with children. There are also challenging routes for experienced hikers. In the vicinity you will find the 'Bohemian Paradise' (rock city) with its huge and impressive rock formations. You will also find both ancient ruins and old castles as well as country houses. A few kilometers away there is a small, beautiful city of Jilemnice which has a nice marketplace. A visit to the district capital of Semily is also highly recommended. From this city you can access a beautiful trail which runs through the surrounding area. In the neighborhood lies the town of Semily Bozkov, especially known for its cave which you are free to explore. The village also has several smaller museums: a ski museum, violin museum and home museum. At a distance of just 5km away you will find the city of Vrchlabi. Centrally located in the Giant Mountains, its chief attraction is a castle and museum, although you will also find numerous shops, restaurants and a variety of other facilities including several large supermarkets. Or what about a visit to Prague? Located just slightly more than 1 hour from Horní Branná, it is recommended that you drive to the periphery of the city by car and then take the metro or a tram to the city center. Snow tires and chains are absolutely necessary, even for the 60-meter-long driveway to the house. Parking is possible in front of the house on the private grounds of the accommodation.
In principle the building consists of two accommodations as the house was originally composed of two separate (but now connected) floors. Each apartment offers a special atmosphere and consists of a large kitchen with a beautiful view of the mountains, two large living and bedrooms and a large central hall. Downstairs there is room for 4 to 8 persons, while upstairs can accommodate 4 to 6 persons. The apartments are linked by a beautiful staircase. On the ground floor there is access to a vast hall. There is a large residential kitchen (4 x 4.5 m) with a beautiful view of the hillside. Next there is a separate storage room, a bathroom equipped with a sink and bathtub, and a separate toilet. There are two large living and bedrooms (5 X 5 meters and 4.5 x 5 meters). Both rooms are furnished with a double bed and a separate bed and have a sink with hot and cold running water. The large bedroom has a big sitting area with a television (including a DVD player) so it can serve as extra living room. In the basement there is plenty of parking space. There are two bicycles which are available free of charge. From the staircase or through a separate entrance in the rear you can access the 1st floor apartment. The smaller bedroom is furnished with a double bed. There is a bathroom with a shower and toilet. From the upstairs kitchen there is an even better view of the surroundings. The upper apartment has a large balcony overlooking the village and mountains.
Winter fun begins right at home where you can go for a wonderful sleigh ride in the immediate surroundings. The resorts of Boubakov and Herlikovice are located about 6 km away. These two ski areas have excellent as well as challenging slopes, two chair lifts and some cross-country ski trails. Very suitable for families with children. Only 10 minutes away you will find Spindleruv Mlyn, the largest and most famous ski resort in the Czech Republic offering a wide range of winter sports activities. For Alpine skiing there are numerous chair lifts. There are several runs suitable for both beginners and more experienced skiers. For snowboarders there are plenty of opportunities as well. For example, there is a snowboard park where World Cup competitions are held, a snow tubing area, and a sensational toboggan run which his 4 km long and 3 meters wide. Both adults and children (accompanied by adults) can have fun here. The center offers a wide selection of comfortable restaurants, cafes and nightclubs. For cross-country skiers there are many well-groomed cross-country trails in the area (40 km). From Horni Misecky it is possible to reach the cross-country ski trails of Beneckozu or the wonderful cross-country ski route of Labsky Dul. Farther east you'll find the beautiful slopes of Janské Lázně, equipped with a modern cable car lift. The area also has several smaller resorts which are especially attractive for beginners. At the house you can get detailed information, suggestions and route information on these and other destinations. In Vrchlabi there are several places where you can rent ski accessories at a reasonable price. You can rent skis at the slopes of Herlikovice and of course at different places in Splynderuv Mlyn. In the area there are plenty of restaurants where, after a busy day, you can enjoy a delicious and inexpensive meal.
